NZ4N Biography

I was first licensed as a novice in the early summer 1989 as KC4GCU and then upgraded to general in the fall of 1989 (N4UEZ).  Enjoyed radio as a youth but took a 15 year or so hiatus.  Finally upgraded to extra in September 2011.  Won the lottery to get the NZ4N callsign in March 2019.  My radio interests include HF DXing and contesting.

My home station consists of an Elecraft K3 (#6556) into a homebrew wire 40m 1/4 wave vertical and an MFJ cobweb in the attic.

I am a life member of the ARRL and also a member of the Forsyth Amateur Radio Club and Potomac Valley Radio Club (NC Chapter).

I confirm all QSOs via LoTW and will respond to all QSL cards in like manner they are received (Direct or Bureau).

73 and hope to hear you on the air!
Brian, NZ4N

This is a picture of the sign about 250 yards from my house warmly welcoming visitors to Oak Ridge, NC.

I've used a bunch of different radios over the years so if you have any questions maybe I can help.  Here's the list.
